Feng Shui - Easy Remedial Measure Feng Shui is an ancient energy science and art placement to guide how human can place himself most comfortably and live in harmony with his environment. Feng Shui is a Chinese Technique devised for balancing environmental energies i.e ‘‘Chi’’ and attaining good health, wealth and fortune. In ‘Chi’nese language ‘Feng’ means ‘Wind’ and Shui means ‘Water’. Wind & Water is fundamental need for attaining good health & harvest i.e. wealth. Feng Shui implies perpetual energy flow and its transformation in the nature. Fengshui is helpful in studying the inter-relationship between mankind and the earth for taking maximum desirable advantage. In fact this science advices to live in harmony with nature to promote balance and harmony in living and working environments for all round prosperity, peace, health and well-being on many levels. In this energy technique, it is believed that land is alive and has its own energy which affects the inhabitants of the place. This gave rise to the various theories and principles of Feng Shui. The basic principle of Feng Shui lie in understanding ‘‘Chi’’. ‘Chi’ or 'Qi' is a Chnese word. In Japanese it is known as ‘Ki’. Both terms are used for indicating cosmic energy or life force energy. This energy is universally present and flows within every organic or non-organic matter, living or non-living being. It is present inside and outside of us. It is present in our physical environment. We live amidst this energy. We absorb it and influence nature's forces of polarity (Yin/Yang)and the laws governing the spiraling movements of energy and growth. This life force energy sustains us. It comes within us from various sources viz, our living and working environment, air, water, sun and other celestial bodies. Through land, food, vegetation also we get it and depletion of ‘‘Chi’’, caused by our activities, that of digestion, breathing, thinking, and all the other vital activities, is maintained. It is believed that this universal life energy manifests in several different types to control the different aspects of our life and universe. The method of achieving the goals of harmony and prosperity is through specific placement and orientation of our households, furniture artifacts, lighting, color and pictures. There are some fundamental principles to understand Feng Shui. Principle of Yin-Yang, Principle of Five Elements, Principle of Eight Trigrams, Principle of East/West system. Principles of Yin-Yang is one of the building blocks of Feng Shui. They are the primordial energies of the universe and are opposite in nature. Both of them are deeply interconnected and refer to Yin (feminine) and Yang (masculine) energies. They are visible in all the natural phenomenon of the earth. It states that everything in the universe is changing, transforming from one state to the other, in order to maintain a balance throughout. Yin is the passive energy and is often referred to as forms of silence, deep darkness and slow movements. It also symbolizes the energy at night, when you relax and replenish your energies. On the other hand, Yang is the active energy, which is symbolized by loud sounds, bright lights, upward moving energy, etc. It is the energy you experience in a busy office, at a great party, or driving on the highway. However, both of them cannot exist without each other, one is the necessary condition for the existence of the other. Both the energies are best represented with the help of the Tai Chi symbol. It is a perfect circle, formed by the combination of two parts, black and white, which are flowing together. Each part contains a dot of the other color which represents the essence of the opposite element. This shows the balance between the two forces, which are distinct from each other but are inseparable. This structure also explains the existence of the universe and the various activities taking place inside it. Five Elements are building blocks of this cosmos. These five elements are Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal. It is believed that these Five Elements are interactive, shape and stimulate our daily life. It is important to understand that there is a natural order in which leads to harmony prosperity and happiness. The productive sequence is as follows: Water nourish plants and trees: producing Wood, Wood makes Fire which burnt into ashes to from Earth, Earth is the source of Metal, Metal can be condensed to water or can be melted can be condensed to water or can be melted into liquid i.e. 'Water'. Therefore this process is known as the productive sequence. Feng Shui provides practical methods to evaluate how placement affects our well-being, happiness and prosperity. Since placement is a person/place connection, It is important to know the birth date of a person we are helping. The date of birth is the time that determines the dominant energy that underpins an individual's life. To again the best results in Feng Shui, therefore, the total psychological, astrological and physical environment of person has to be skillfully mapped. Feng Shui sees everything in world as alive with buildings, street, property, even furnishing, interconnected in a dynamic relationship that affects everything we experience. Where Feng Shui has been applied. People often report extraordinary results rewarding relationships, improved health, increased happiness and prosperity. Whether you want to transform your home into a personal paradise, or your office into a powerhouse of success, Feng Shui can assist you. The interaction of Yin and Yang gives place to the 8 trigrams, which represent the transitional stages in nature and human beings. Symbolically, the continuous line represents Yang, the creative principle. The broken line represents Yin, the receptive principle. These principles are also represented in a circular symbol, known as Taijitu, but commonly known as the diagram of Yin-Yang, by expressing the idea of the complementarity of changes: when Yang is in the higher part, Yin increases, and vice versa. The 8 trigrams are associated to the phenomena of the world, and they are associated to the cardinal directions, the colors, the bodies, the diseases, the numbers and other aspects of life, and they form the essential components of Feng Shui. Each trigram is the description of a quality of the Chi. The eight trigrams are an essential component of the Bagua used in Feng Shui and can appear in two different versions - the Earlier Heaven Bagua (used for burial sites) and the Later Heaven Bagua (used for the residences). When two trigrams are combined, the hexagrams are formed, creating the sixty-four combinations of the Yijing or I Ching. The symbols of the 8 trigrams are read from bottom to top. The lower line represents the earth, the line in the middle represents the person and the higher line represents the heaven. The East/West Theory (8 House Theory) - Both people and houses belong to one of the above Trigrams. Each of the Trigrams fall into two distinct categories as either east group or west group. Matching a West group house type to a West group person is ideal, as is matching an East group house to an East group person.
